Woman's Camp

Woman's camp 2008. We went to a place called Assagay Trails which is on the way to Kenton-on-sea while the boys went to a place I honestly cannot pronounce. They had to rough it with no showers and a 12km hike. Us girls on the other hand were treated like the princesses we are. Goog food, hot water, lovely accomodation - we even got goodie bags on arrival! It was a time on connecting with our God as His bride and soulmate, not just as Lord and King - very special experience. Us girls must really do this more often!

Cafe Blanca

It was a public holiday, Lea & Rem's anniversary, and Sally had come down from Stellenbosch - ofcourse we were going to go out!

A new place has just opened up in Grahamstown - Cafe Blanca. It's a cute little coffee bar/garden restaurant/cocktail bar in the garage and garage of Maxwells (a really expensive but beautiful restaurant, well atleast when you are on a student's budget :) ). We had to give it a try. I love it! It's like an upmarket pub without the scum, really nice atmosphere going too.

The Girls go for Tea

So all us first year God loving girls went for tea last Friday to a gorgeous little house that's been converted into a cafe. Stunning little place (Mom would love it with all it's nooks and crannies and beautiful garden)! We ended up taking over an entire room and dominating it with style.. Can't wait for the next one *smile*

Welcome Home

Midland Meander

Ahh… The Midland Meander! What a terrific day – a great way to spend your first day back home. It was Mom, Granny Claire, Pops and myself. We had no specific agenda besides brunch at Piggly Wiggly’s so we literally did do a meander, stopping at whatever tickled our fancy. We dropped by Peels Honey Shop and we were able to stock up on a few treats (myself for back home at Rhodes), a home store that specialises in wind chimes where Mom had the pleasure of picking one for our garden, and then lastly Nottingham Brewery. That dear brewery is just delightful! We refreshed ourselves with splendid beer shandys made with ginger ale instead of lemonade and their brand of light lager. Delicious! While there we happened upon quite a relaxing hammock-type chair that Mom could just not resist taking home with her. I’m glad I won’t be here when it’s hung up for I rather think I’d fall asleep in it instead of learning in it if I took advantage of it. I can’t wait to go back again in lush summer, or even spending a night up in the mountains.

Boknes Beauty

Wayne was able to fix my camera! That means I didn’t loose all my Boknes pics, yay! Now you can see for yourself why I am falling in love with the Eastern Cape. I hope you like landscapes cause that’s pretty much all the pics I took.. We also happened upon a whole community of periwinkles. You will also see just how string the wind was on our last day there, it near about blew us over! The interesting thing is that the same day these pics were taken it ended up hailing at camp as well as snowing roughly 30min out of Grahamstown at Hogsback – and it was the day before spring was to start!
